The Rams had the opportunity to play at the Pepsi Center on Friday November 4th. They fought hard through the end of the game. With regulation ending in a 1-1 tie. Overtime was intense. The Pioneers received a 5 minute major with 43 seconds left in the 3rd period. Which led into the third, so the Rams were on the power play for nearly the entire OT period. Right as the penalty expired, Ashley Chase scored her second goal of the game allowing the Rams to win 2-1.
The Rams had the opportunity for another battle against DU again Saturday November 5th. Both the Pioneers and the Rams came out ready for the rematch, resulting in another good game. The Rams had better scoring opportunities in the second game and were able to pull out the 3-2 victory in regulation. With goals from Alex Reda, Elizabeth Stepanek and Sierra Dell the Rams were able to rise above and defeat DU.
This semester has been very exciting for the Rams, they have shown that they can compete with some of the top teams, especially University of Colorado Boulder. However, there are much harder teams that the Rams will face next semester. With their last games of the fall semester this Friday and Saturday the Rams are gearing up for potentially their hardest competition thus far. Friday November 11th at 7:30 pm the Rams will play McKendree University at EPIC, with a rematch Saturday at 8:00 pm.
